Dianna Abdala and Attorney Korman

Abdala, who described herself as a ''trust fund baby," was admitted to the Massachusetts bar last year and said that since then she has ''just been taking it easy" because ''I worked hard in school." She decided to respond to Korman's job posting because ''I wanted to establish somewhat of a career for myself," she said. ''No one wants to be living off daddy."

Seems a little bit ridiculous.  Korman is being too nice in all these articles about this stuff, although I suppose it's better that he come off as a nice guy -- he has nothing to gain by being aggressive about it.  Abdala seems like a kook.  Of course, maybe kooks make good criminal defense lawyers.  If I wanted to plea insanity, I'd hire her as my attorney.  What better proof that I'm insane?  :)

I'm not sure I agree he's coming across as too nice. True, it wouldn't be in his interest to come across as aggressive, but also why bother getting all worked up over this kook. (I think that describes her well, even though I've never heard the word.)

She's lost in her very own world, and if someone like that does you wrong, provided it's possible to just move on, it's probably best to do so. I think he has the right attitude.

Oh come on. Wasn't it the funniest email, though? And she also spelled "soe" wrong and wrote "sew" in the email. Also, on my forwarded copy, I got a comment or two from people who went to school with her. Yeah, it was great. Apparently she was like this in law school, too. By the way Korman is supposedly an up and rising star from people in the know....

How is Abdala a "kook"? I just want to turn the tide for a bit. It's time for people like William A Korman be put in their place. What a jerk. Not only did he change the terms of his offer to Abdala, he shamed her for not accepting a reduction in salary AFTER they had already agreed (apparently). In fact, it looks a bit like he was strong-arming her into accepting a lower salary. Then he ruined (perhaps intentionally) her entire career by sending the message to his colleagues. Her statement, though snarky, was TRUE AND ACCURATE, and made in response to a totally unwarranted, inaccurate, and hostile email from Korman. Indeed, why did he rely on her "acceptance" when she told him she had to think about his new offer? What sort of lawyer acts like Korman? Of course, the stupid, vindictive, petty lawyers of the world have sunk their teeth into her.
