Just watched Monday night's episode of Everwood. The past few hadn't been that awesome, but this one really was quite excellent. Real moments of emotional honesty and intelligent characters expressing intelligent feelings. There's an intelligence to Everwood that The Office has when it's at its best, that The West Wing has when it's at its best (and this past Sunday's episode of The West Wing was also quite terrific, probably because it was written by Debora Cahn, whose episodes are usually terrific), but that not much else that I've seen does.
If you're talking about the American version of the office, you really should watch the British version as well. It's such a great show.

why do people do that? not all of us were able to watch the original Office, either because of lack of knowledge at the time, or no cable, or no money for the DVD's. I can't go a single time mentioning an American Office episode without someone "helpfully" suggesting that I watch the old show. Everyone is Roger effing Ebert. Let me watch Steve Carell in peace.

The British version is good too. Different from the American version. Last season the American version tried to just imitate the British one and really sucked. But this year it went in its own direction and I think it has really worked.
